ABINGTON HEIGHTS CLASS OF 1988
MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The scholarships for 2010 will be given in the name of Jeff Pivovarnik and Bob Rothwell.

FUNDRAISING UPDATE
Happy New Year to everyone!  As the holidays have passed and we are all (hopefully) looking forward to 2010, now is the time to set aside for this year's scholarship fund.  As we did last year, the fund will be administered though the Abington Heights Student Aid Fund, a long-established 501(c)(3) charity.  The AHSAF employs a treasurer to manage the funds and a Certified Public Accountant to conduct an annual balance sheet certification.

If you choose to donate, please send an e-mail to Eric Reese and make your checks payable to: Abington Heights Student Aid Fund

Mail to:
Eric Reese

Please include your mailing address (for a receipt) and make a notation on your check indicating your donation is for the AHHS Class of 1988 Scholarship.

**Due to financial reporting requirements and tracking limitation, we are unable to offer the option to donate to the scholarships using PayPal**

ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITTEE UPDATE

As noted above, the funds for the scholarship will be administered by the Abington Heights Student Aid Fund, a 501(c)(3) charity, and specifically designated for use by our class.  The AHSAF does not dictate how we utilize or disburse our funds; it simply acts as a mechanism for us to administer our fund with a minimal amount of class work load.  Drew Tomakso and Eric Reese will provide oversight regarding our donations and their eventual disbursement.

By way of background, Section 501(c)(3) is a  federal tax law provision granting exemption from the federal income tax to non-profit organizations.  Most, if not all donations made to the fund will be tax-deductible.  The Administrative Committee cannot give individuals financial or tax advice, so questions regarding individual contributions should be directed to your financial advisor, tax professional, or accountant.
